8 inch square , open slat cedar baskets are excellent containers for most orchids, ferns, and many other plants. Vanda alliance orchids are typically grown in baskets. In high humidity environments, the Vanda roots are allowed to weave through the basket, and out the sides to hang pendant down, without any media in the basket. In low humidity environments, coconut chips mix or Vanda Mix can be placed in the baskets to provide some moisture retention. For other orchids and other plants, a coconut liner will holds potting media. Dimensions 8" baskets: 8" across, 4 11/16" tall , Inside: 6 7/8" across, 3 5/8" deep.
